Darsana Cultural Centre, a voluntary organisantion, set up in the year 1984 is dedicated for the social and cultural lives of the people residing in and around Kottayam. It is registered under the Societies Act 1955, as Darsan Cultural Society Reg. No. K. 457/95.
Darsana Academy, founded 1996, is managed by ‘Darsana Academic Institute Trust’ formed by the members of St. Joseph Province of the Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), the first indigenous congregation in India. The CMI congregation is the embodiment of the dream and vision of Blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the founder of the CMI congregation. He was honoured by the Government of India, by the release of a postal stamp with his portrait in 1986. CMI congregation with a membership of 2300, renders services to humanity in educational, social, healthcare and other areas aiming at he prosperity and well-being of the society.
