Darsana Cultural Centre came into existence in August 14, 1984, as an accomplishment of a magnificent obsession of the Catholic Fathers of Carmelite of Mary Immaculate (CMI) St. Joseph Province, Kottayam. The Directors, benefactors and the associates laid the strong foundation that helped Darsana, in spreading its wings far and wide to enkindle the minds with love of humanity, peace and coexistence and societal commitment.
Darsan Cultural Society, the parent organization of Darsana Cultural Centre was registered in 1995 (Reg. No. K 457/95) under the Travancore Educational, Scientific Charitable Societies Act.
‘Darsana is a Centre, unique in nature and universal in vision. Less than a claim it is an offer by the people and for the people. Darsana is directed by a credible group of people who have been pioneering in the field of Education and Culture for more than a century.
‘Darsana is intended for those men and women, who share in an integral vision of mankind, for those who seek ways of national integration and communal harmony. It is a voluntary nonsectarian endeavor to integrate the various strata of the society and thus bring about a certain unity of ideas and ideals. With a specific thrust of promoting and bringing to the people, the artistic and cultural heritage of our Land, Darsana promises to be a dynamic symbol of unity and progress’.
To function as a forum for free flow and exchange of ideas and ideals by providing platform for Talks , Discussions, Seminars.etc, on relevant themes of social and cultural importance.

To act as an agent for guiding and accelerating the transformative process of man and his environment: Man, Society and the World in various layers of Educational, Societal, Cultural, Political, Religious, Literary, Artistic and Media themes.

To develop an ambience for seeking and sharing God-experience, Multi religious Discussions promoting communal harmony.

To establish centre for Performing arts, Competitions, lectures, demonstrations, Exhibitions and to conduct cultural programme, film shows, dance, musical performances etc.

To promote an Art Academy for imparting training in various aspects of music, painting, dance and dramatics.

To run a Centre for Children and Youth for conducting Leadership training programme, career guidance and job oriented courses.

To establish a Cultural Library and Knowledge Centre
Darsana as on today has reached the zenith in the field of education by securing the First rank in Kerala Engineering Entrance examination (2008), and Second rank in Medical (ST) Entrance Examination (2008). Again a large number of deserving students from all communities enjoy the facility of free Education at Darsana in fulfillment of its declared
objective.
